Remember Obama’s IRS?

13-1129 - IRS ObamaCare 500w 321h

Remember the IRS scandal that President Obama declared to be a non-issue. After all, he replaced the head of the agency and Lois Lerner retired, so problem solved. Right?

Wrong.

Today marks the 204th day of the IRS scandal and the administration is doing absolutely nothing but stonewalling. Today also may be the day that they crossed the line from just being an agency that harasses the Tea Parties and issue oriented groups that oppose the Obama agenda.

Bill Elliot voted for Barack Obama in 2012 because of Obama’s promises about ObamaCare. Bill Elliot had health insurance that he liked. Bill Elliot was diagnosed with cancer. Listen to his story…

The reality of ObamaCare hit home. His premiums had been $187 per month, they jumped to $1,500. The deductible is $13,500 per year.

Welcome to the World of Socialized Medicine! Actually, fully socialized medicine, as in US government single-payer would likely be substantially worse, but you get the idea.

Let me take just a moment out to note that this story actually has a hero. It’s not Barack Obama. An insurance broker heard Bill’s story and pitched in to help. The broker, C. Steven Tucker, worked with Bill and his carrier and got his policy reinstated. Here’s a portion of the email Mr. Tucker received from Bill along with his comment…

“Steve, the company decided to keep me active. Since it is a chronic illness. Until this illness kills me. Battle #1 is won. Now the hard part. You literally saved me. Thank you so much.”

Those are the greatest words I have ever heard in my 20 year career as a licensed health insurance broker. I couldn’t be a happier man today! – C. Steven Tucker

Mr. Tucker’s website is HERE. He serves clients in 15 states, check out his website and if you live in one of those states contact him. Let him know The Curmudgeon sent you. We don’t get anything from this other than a warm-fuzzy that we’ve sent a good man a potential client. And, if you contact him, please let us know how it goes.

Now, back to the rest of the story.

So, thanks to Mr. Tucker’s good work, Bill has his insurance back and can look forward to continuing his treatment, hopefully beating the cancer, and being around to see his kids grow up and have kids. Happy ending!

Well, not quite.

It seems that after Bill went on FoxNews with Megyn Kelly, the IRS decided that his doctors just weren’t far enough up his insides so they’re pitching in. Bill Elliot received a notice from the IRS that he’s being audited, all years from 2009 back to 2003. Let that sink in. 2009 back to 2003. Seven years.

If you’re unfamiliar with the tax code, the IRS can only audit you for three years unless you’re suspected of tax fraud. Got it?

Two points in closing.

First, I hope there’s a tax attorney out there who is a clone of C. Steven Tucker who will get on board with Bill and beat the bastards at the IRS into dust. And then sue them for harassment. And anything else he can think of.

Second, Darrell Issa needs to add Bill Elliot to his list of things to do with respect to his investigation of the IRS abuses. You can contact his office in Washington at 202-225-3906 or in Vista, CA at 760-599-5000. Of course you’ll be polite and simply mention Bill Elliot’s plight to nice staffer who answers the phone.

This needs to stop and people in high places need to pay a very heavy price. As in serious prison time.
